India’s most luxurious Thar on video

In the past, we have seen DC Design Studio creating some of the most attention-grabbing after-market modified vehicles based on existing vehicles. The new identity of the design studio, DC2, has recently prepared an extensively modified Mahindra Thar, which includes massive changes to the exterior and completely reworked interiors.

In a YouTube video from Mihir Galat, a West Delhi-based person named Vipin is seen introducing his heavily customized Mahindra Thar from DC2 Design Studio to the viewers. As can be seen in the video, the modified Thar from DC2 gets a whole new identity with an all-new front fascia, which includes a stretched front profile comprising a wider grille with gloss black surrounds. Even the rounded headlamps have been replaced by a sleeker set of headlamps comprising LED projector bulbs.

The headlamps are placed within carved housings, which blend well with the customized side fenders. Below the headlamps, this Thar gets thin strips of LED turn indicators. Even the front bumper looks different and has a wider and sturdier appearance, while the bonnet also looks different with a more prominent hump in the middle.

The side profile of this Mahindra Thar modified by DC2 also looks very different with reworked front and rear fenders with heavy-looking side body cladding. This Thar also gets 26-inch custom wheels with thick off-road spec tyres and a carbon fibre finish for the headlamp and tail lamp surrounds. At the back, this Thar gets a custom set of tail lamps with unique LED inserts, with additional lights and carbon fibre inserts in the lower edges of the rear bumper.

Cabin completely transformed

The cabin of this heavily modified Mahindra Thar from DC2 Design Studio also looks extensively reworked with a new set of front and rear sports seats, dual-tone red and black upholstery, soft-touch red leather finish for the dashboard and lots of carbon fibre inserts on the door pads and centre console. This Thar also gets a panoramic sunroof, which is not available as standard in the production model.

Another highlight of this Mahindra Thar which catches one’s attention is the custom roof lighting, which has capacitive touch buttons on either side of the roof. This Thar also gets a few other elements like a carbon fibre finish over the steering wheel, a starry night light for the roof and blue light surrounds for the AC vents. However, the owner also says that the 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, which is here mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox, has not been tampered with in this extensive modification process, and is in its stock state of tune.
