Limited Edition
Ford enlisted the services of racecar specialists Multimatic to build this limited-edition track-only machine. Just 67 units of the GT Mk IV will be hand built. This is a nod to the original Mk IV win at the 1967 24 Hours of Le Mans. Each will cost about R30m (using today’s exchange rate).
Multimatic has been freed of all constraints to completely optimise the aerodynamic, suspension and powertrain for maximum performance attainable with this package. Part of the upgrades includes a stretched wheelbase for more high-speed stability.

Full Power
The Ford GT Mk IV has a unique version of Ford’s V6 EcoBoost engine. The twin-turbocharged motor now delivers 588 kW of power. A racing transmission sends powers exclusively to the rear axle.
The remodelled carbon-fibre body has long-tail configuration with bodywork stretched beyond the rear lights. The nose has NACA-style vents and a heavily louvred upper section. Other notable aero devices include aerodynamic covers on the wheels, a massive rear diffuser and fixed wing.
“The original GT Mk IV held nothing back for max track performance, and the new Ford GT Mk IV brings it in the same way,” said Mark Rushbrook, global director, Ford Performance Motorsports. “With an even higher-level of motorsport engineering and performance, plus a completely new carbon-fibre body that is functional and striking, the Mk IV is the ultimate sendoff of the third-generation supercar.”
