2023 Kia Niro, Acura TLX headline this week’s new car reviews

The Car Connection launched its annual Best Car To Buy awards content this week, looking back at past winners and narrowing down the field of new and redesigned cars to five finalists for 2023. We revisited one of those finalists in this week’s coverage of new car reviews, and the 2023 Kia Niro continues to impress us in hybrid, plug-in hybrid, or electric variants.

Here’s what else moved us.

2023 Acura TLX review

With its slick moves and reasonable price tag, and a TCC Rating of 7.0 out of 10, the 2023 Acura TLX is a must-shop mid-size sedan.

2023 Kia Niro review

Sold as a hybrid, plug-in hybrid or electric vehicle, the redesigned 2023 Kia Niro crossover grows larger, roomier, edgier, and more efficient in earning a TCC Rating of 6.8 out of 10.

2023 BMW X5 review

With impressive performance for a luxury SUV, the BMW X5 comes with a wealth of standard features and even more options to help it earn a TCC Rating of 6.8 out of 10.

2023 Audi A4 review

The 2023 Audi A4 range may not excite, but these cars are loaded with tech and boast a terrific ride and handling balance to help it earn a TCC Rating of 6.3 out of 10.

2023 Nissan Armada review

With a big V-8 and a roomy cabin, the 2023 Nissan Armada full-size SUV hauls up to eight passengers and their things with ease, but it’ll cost you at the pump. It earns a TCC Rating of 5.6 out of 10.

2023 Dodge Durango review

The aging three-row SUV counters great performance with poor efficiency, and good features with a lack of basic driver-assist tech, resulting in a middling TCC Rating of 5.5 out of 10.

2023 Mazda MX-5 Miata review

The two-seat convertible and driver’s dream comes with a soft top or power hardtop, and a manual or automatic transmission. Its lack of practicality counters its fun, and earns a TCC Rating of 5.4 out of 10.

2023 Chrysler 300 review

The last year of production of the Chrysler 300 proves this big sedan still has it, and with V-8 power it has it in bunches. But it’s outdated and inefficient, and earns a TCC Rating of 5.2 out of 10.
